Get a Taki number

Taki is the phone company as far as you are concerned. You pick an area code, we buy the line on our carrier account, and callers see that number instead of your cell. You do not open a Twilio account.

Trial first

The 14-day trial is for exploring: build flows, press Try calling to rehearse on the site, and try test messaging. We do not park a live number on a cardless trial. A real DID starts billing the carrier the moment it exists.

After you pick a plan

1. Open Setup or Numbers.
2. Type an area code (404, 470, 678 for metro Atlanta, or wherever your customers are).
3. Pick a number. The first lines inside your plan are included.
4. Taki points the number at your published flow.

Extra lines past the plan limit are 2× the carrier monthly rental (about $2.30/mo for a US local number) and land on your next Stripe invoice.

What you own

The number lives on Taki's carrier account. If you leave, we can port it to you. Say so before you cancel.

Advanced: your own Twilio

If you already run Twilio, there is a hidden checkbox on Billing and at the bottom of Setup: "I already have a Twilio account."

That path:

• You paste an Account SID and Auth Token. The token is encrypted at rest.
• You import numbers you already own. Taki writes the webhooks.
• Your plan is 25% less on later invoices, prorated.

The first paid month is always full price. Time you spend on BYO during a calendar month is recorded. The next invoice is reduced by that fraction times 25% of the plan that invoice is actually charging. If you change plans, the credit uses the new plan, not the old one.

Most people should ignore this. It exists for shops that already have Twilio and want the discount.
